About the 2023 Seniors Film Festival

Our 2023 season was a huge success with over 1200 people attending film screenings across our three local Boroondara cinemas: Lido Cinemas, Palace Balwyn and Village Rivoli.

The theme of the 2023 film festival program was ‘Stories that inspire, challenge, and connect us'. Each film was selected to illustrate the wide spectrum of experience, stories and wisdom that only come with age.

Feature films screened at the 2023 festival included:

  • The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry (2023)
  • Sweet Bean (2015)
  • The King Sun: John Olsen, a portrait at 85 (2014)
  • Mrs Harris Goes to Paris (2022),

We had a fantastic response with submissions of over 220 films either made by or featuring older adults. A selection of these were screened at cinema events and a larger range were available for a limited time on City of Boroondara's YouTube Channel.
